Good Books for Forming the Mind
We recognize that the chief cause of today’s political depravity is ignorance. People and politicians alike are intellectually unformed. Worse, university is pandering dangerous ideas that destroy the fabric of our country. Too few political parties take real action to fix the learning crisis. They don’t realize that if we don’t educate all Americans in the art of diligence, we won’t be able to fix this mess. The Index is meant to solve that problem by encouraging the Western classics again, those essential works that form the corpus of traditionalist and Christian thought. These methods carried the West before the Revolution. We believe they can do it again.
The Index is currently being compiled by the AMS Council. Although political works are the main feature, there will be others treating in things like literature, philosophy, and religion. After all, politics is simply the artful application of higher truths.
